Annie Manning MASC (CBT)

Welcome to my website and thank you for visiting. I am a qualified Counsellor and NLP Life Skills Coach offering one to one counselling and coaching. Within those disciplines I can lay claim to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Psychology, Spiritual Healing and Bereavement Counselling. For many years I have worked closely with stroke survivors and their families. For over seven years I have been helping families and their loved ones (often their main carers) meeting the challenge of living with Dementia on a day to day basis. My person centred approach and tailor-made one-to-one cognitive support includes; art and literature, musical and laughter therapy. I also encourage physical activities with chair physio, counsel and support carers and extended family when required. I consider my dementia work to be a great privilege and appreciate the warmth and acceptance of the lovely families with whom I support.

Over a course of often what may be many years I become part of my client’s family unit. I feel blessed that through such personal involvement I grow to love my clients and share in families’ bereavement when they pass, or, sadness if and when a decision to move their loved one into fulltime care has to be made. I volunteer at, and, help run a weekly local hub for Dementia clients and their carers  at Redbourn Village Hall – we welcome new members

January 2023: Sharon Fossey, Dementia Locality Worker, Hertswise – ‘Annie makes the Redbourn members feel safe and empowered by her interest in them as individuals and all carried out with her positive character traits of being friendly, patient and attentive. Not only is Annie brilliant with the clients, she also spends quality time with the carers too, ensuring they feel they have support not only within their role as carer, but more importantly as a friend with Annie, someone they have become so fond of. Thank you Annie for all your valuable support.’

October 2020: Please read my interview with BSY Group 2022 Mrs June

Mrs June Fox:  Annie Manning came into our house over four years ago to help me with my husband Peter as he had Dementia. It was a God send because she was so good with him, very patient and she really knew how to stimulate him. He really enjoyed  her company. She gave us all the practical and emotional support that we needed. She visited him during his respite in the nursing home and helped us when he was seriously ill at home during his final weeks. Thank you Annie also for all our laughs we have together you will always be welcome in our home’

June 2022 Mrs Teresa Bryson: ‘I have found Annie to be always cheerful and extremely good with my husband Andrew, finding out what interests he had and the music he liked and encouraging him to conduct and sing along. She is very good at finding out about his family and his interests.’

May 2021 Martin Howe: ‘I can thoroughly recommend Annie Manning. My wife has Alzheimer’s. I have been most impressed with the way Annie has been able to communicate with her and gain her confidence. It is not just her training, she clearly cares deeply for the well-being of those she is called on to help.’

November 2022 Tish Pearce: Annie was invaluable to my parents during lock down and the year of Covid restrictions. Keeping both their spirits up with safe distance doorstep counselling and support then choosing them as ‘her bubble’. Providing our family with information and liaising within the government guidelines. For over four years she provided my Dad with one to one tailormade cognitive activities and got him resuming his much loved artistic hobbies. I know he looked forward to her sessions and they had great fun together and were very close’
